Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh – In a momentous ceremony held on November 25, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the sacred saffron flag, the ‘Dharma Dhwaj,’ atop the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, signifying the completion of its construction. The event marks a pivotal moment in India’s cultural landscape, drawing dignitaries and devotees alike.

The saffron flag, a potent symbol of Lord Ram’s valor, features a radiant sun, the ‘Om’ symbol, and the Kovidara tree. The flag hoisting ceremony, also attended by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, was charged with devotional fervor.

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi stated, “Today, Ayodhya is witnessing another tipping point in India’s cultural consciousness…This moment of flag hoisting, celebrating the pinnacle of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, is unique and ethereal. Siyawar Ramchandra ki Jai!”

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hailed the event as the dawn of a new era, emphasizing the temple’s significance for 140 crore Indians. He underscored the flag as a symbol of faith, truth, justice, and national pride, embodying the concept of a developed India harmonizing development with its rich heritage.

Earlier in the day, Ayodhya was filled with devotees chanting “Jai Shri Ram,” eager to witness the historic “Dhwaj Arohan.” Stringent security measures were in place, with thousands of personnel deployed to ensure the safety and smooth execution of the event.

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi also offered prayers at various temples within the complex, which showcases intricately carved stone episodes from the Valmiki Ramayana and bronze depictions of Indian culture.
