Prime Minister Narendra Modi ceremonially hoisted the Dharma Dhwaj, a saffron flag, at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on November 25, 2025, marking the symbolic completion of the temple’s construction and heralding a new chapter for the sacred city. The event was attended by prominent figures including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The saffron flag, a striking 10 feet high and 20 feet long, features an image of the radiant Sun, symbolizing Lord Ram’s valor, along with an ‘Om’ symbol, and the Kovidara tree. During the ceremony, PM Modi addressed the gathering, acknowledging the auspicious occasion: “Today, the city of Ayodhya is witnessing another tipping point in India’s cultural consciousness… Siyawar Ramchandra ki Jai.”
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described the flag hoisting as the dawn of a new era, emphasizing the temple’s significance as a symbol of faith, respect, and pride for 1.4 billion Indians. He underscored the dedication of saints, warriors, and devotees to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, highlighting the values of Ram Rajya as timeless.
The city of Ayodhya was imbued with devotional fervor as devotees flocked to the temple town. Stringent security measures were in place, with thousands of personnel deployed to ensure safety. PM Modi also offered prayers at various significant sites within the temple complex, including the Ram Darbar Garbh Grah, Ram Lalla Garbh Grah, Saptmandir, Sheshavtar Mandir, and Mata Annapurna temple.
The Ram Temple features intricate carvings depicting episodes from the Valmiki Ramayana and bronze-cast depictions of Indian culture, showcasing a blend of heritage and devotion. This momentous event marks a significant milestone in India’s cultural and spiritual landscape, symbolizing a new era of faith and development.
