Mahindra has once again made headlines with the global unveiling of the Mahindra Vision X on August 15, 2025. Revealed on India’s Independence Day as part of the company’s “Vision 2027” strategy, this futuristic SUV concept shows where Mahindra is headed in design, technology, and innovation. With its sleek coupe-style stance, smart interior, and new flexible platform, the Vision X is more than just a concept—it’s a glimpse of the next generation of compact SUVs that could hit Indian roads soon.
The Vision X is built on Mahindra’s all-new NU_IQ platform , a modular base designed to support multiple body styles and powertrains. This means the SUV can adapt to petrol, hybrid, or full electric versions, offering Mahindra the flexibility to meet future customer needs and regulations. It also hints at the brand’s global ambition, ensuring cars made in India are ready for international markets too.
Mahindra calls the design approach behind the Vision X its HEARTCORE philosophy, and it shows. The SUV blends bold muscle with sleek curves, resulting in a sporty coupe-SUV profile. At the front, a closed grille with the Twin Peaks logo is flanked by split LED headlamps and striking DRLs. The side profile stands out with squared wheel arches, gloss-black cladding, flush door handles, and eye-catching 19-inch aero wheels. At the back, connected LED tail lamps and a sculpted bumper complete the futuristic look.

Step inside and the Mahindra Vision X surprises even more. The highlight is its wide dual-curved display that merges the driver’s instrument cluster with infotainment—something never seen before in this segment. The dashboard feels layered and modern, with a floating centre console, premium steering wheel, and smart use of materials. Expect features like dual-zone climate control, advanced connectivity, and a focus on comfort for both driver and passengers.
While still a concept, Mahindra has confirmed that the Vision X will go into production as part of its Vision 2027 roadmap. A market debut is expected around 2027. Positioned under four metres in length, the production model will take on popular compact SUVs like the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Maruti Brezza.
Pricing is not official yet, but early estimates suggest it could start around ₹8–11 lakh and go up to ₹16–18 lakh depending on variants and powertrains. That would make it competitive while offering futuristic design and features at an accessible range.
The Mahindra Vision X is more than just a flashy show car. It is a statement of intent from Mahindra—showing that future SUVs can be compact yet premium, stylish yet practical, and high-tech yet affordable. If the production version stays close to the concept, Indian buyers are in for something truly exciting by 2027.
In short: Vision X is Mahindra’s way of saying the future of compact SUVs will be bold, connected, and global.
