Mahindra NU_IQ Platform by Mahindra & Mahindra has just announced a game-changing shift in SUV design and engineering with the launch of its all-new Mahindra NU_IQ platform modular. This marks the end of reliance on old Korean technology and the beginning of a bold, fully Indian-designed future. SUV enthusiasts in India and across the globe should get ready for an exciting lineup starting from 2027.
Think of the Mahindra NU_IQ modular platform multi-energy as a set of building blocks for SUVs. It allows Mahindra to design and produce multiple SUVs on the same base, while still delivering unique looks, features, and driving experiences.
According to Mahindra’s official press release (August 15, 2025), this platform will serve as the foundation for their next generation of “disruptive SUVs”.
The current Mahindra 3XO SUV is built on the SsangYong Tivoli platform—a Korean base that has served Mahindra for years. As noted in CarsGuide’s review, the 3XO is essentially the final evolution of this platform.
While the 3XO is still an excellent compact SUV, it symbolizes the end of Mahindra’s Korean technology era. From 2027 onwards, every new Mahindra SUV will be fully developed in India, powered by NU_IQ.
Mahindra isn’t just talking innovation—they’ve revealed four bold concept SUVs that preview the future lineup.
Each of these concepts will be available with petrol or electric powertrains, giving buyers complete flexibility.

Mahindra has confirmed a 2027 global debut for NU_IQ-based SUVs. The launch roadmap looks like this:
If you need a car today, the Mahindra 3XO remains a strong choice. But if you can wait, the NU_IQ era promises breakthrough SUVs that will redefine the segment.
For years, Mahindra’s global SUV strategy leaned heavily on SsangYong’s Tivoli architecture. With NU_IQ, the company achieves complete technological independence.
This is not just a platform shift—it’s India’s automotive independence day, proving that Mahindra can design, engineer, and manufacture world-class SUVs without foreign dependencies.
The Mahindra NU_IQ platform
is set to revolutionize the SUV market from 2027 onwards. With world-class safety, cutting-edge design, and flexible powertrain options, Mahindra is positioning itself as a serious global SUV leader.
Whether you prefer petrol, hybrid, or electric, Mahindra will soon have a Made-in-India SUV ready for you. The countdown to 2027 has begun—and the future looks bold, powerful, and proudly Indian.
